MADINAH — The Madinah Region Police confirmed that authorities responded in real-time to a widely circulated video showing a woman assaulting a security officer while he was performing his duties.
The incident occurred in the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. As seen in the footage, the woman attempted to walk through a non-authorized walkway. When the security officer advised her to change her route, she refused to comply and then assaulted him by slapping him on the face.
In a statement issued Saturday, police said the incident was immediately handled at the scene and that all necessary legal procedures were completed in accordance with regulations.
